Placements
Placements are an integral part of our undergraduate degree and provide students with the clinical skills, experience, development and learning opportunities required to complete their qualification.
We have a range of placement sites to ensure that students get a rounded experience of different Trusts and service users.
During your time on placement, you will be required to travel to different placement sites, for which you are able to claim financial support for the cost of travel or additional accommodation.
While on placement, you will have regular contact with a University Clinical Tutor whose role it is to support you, provide pastoral care, deliver tutorials and liaise with the clinical staff.
Placement is divided into three blocks, one for each stage of the course
- Stage One placement is approximately 16 weeks during the summer term
- Stage Two placement is approximately 15 weeks during the spring term
- Stage Three placement is approximately 18 weeks during the autumn term
- For MSci students, Stage Four placement is approximately 10 weeks during the spring term.
