Professor Richard Kyle is Director of Nursing and a Professor of Interprofessional Education at the Academy of Nursing within the Faculty of Health and Life Sciences. He is an experienced academic leader in higher education and the National Health Service (NHS). He has established a national and international reputation for research in nursing education, public health and nurses’ health and wellbeing.
Professor Kyle’s research has received national media coverage, influenced nursing policy and parliamentary debate, and received several awards. These include a Scottish Education Award and recognition as a finalist at the Scottish Government NMAHP Research Awards in the Research Impact category, and Student Nursing Times Awards for Partnership of the Year and Teaching Innovation of the Year.
Professor Kyle is a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (SFHEA) and Fellow of the Royal Geographic Society (FRGS) and Royal Society for Public Health (FRSPH). He is also a Visiting Professor in the Department of Nursing and Midwifery at the University of the Highlands and Islands and Trustee and Board Member of the Centre for the Advancement of Interprofessional Education (CAIPE)
