About me:
Shafini is currently a Senior Lecturer in Medical Imaging, where she teaches a range of undergraduate and postgraduate courses in radiography and imaging. She has maintained involvement in the supervision of PhD and Masters students. She is a panel member for Allied Health Science Profession Subject Matter Expert – [SME Special Assignment (SSA)] and a member of the Fragility Fracture Network (FFN). She previously served on multiple university committees and boards related to curriculum development, accreditation standards, research ethics, and postgraduate training.
Interests:
Shafini's interdisciplinary research focuses on developing innovative imaging methods with a focus on x-ray imaging and (micro) computed tomography (CT) for various types of biological tissues. Other specific interests include optimisation of CT image quality that depends on various factors, i.e. scan parameters, contrast media (CM) parameters, and patient-related parameters, radiographer workforce optimisation and radiation safety for patient and staff.
