I joined the University of Exeter in March 2013 as a Senior Lecturer in Medical Imaging, where I was responsible for delivering the Image Interpretation module to undergraduate students. Since then, I have led the development, accreditation, and management of a Radiographer Reporting MSc, overseeing all aspects of its delivery, including teaching, assessment design, and administrative coordination. This role involved liaising with applicants, supporting clinical mentors, and managing teaching schedules.

Building on this foundation, I spearheaded the expansion of the programme into an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice and later an MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice Degree Apprenticeship, serving as Programme Lead for both. These developments enabled us to broaden our scope by offering a diverse range of clinically relevant modules, supporting the advancement of specialist skills within the healthcare community.

In my current role as Compliance Lead for the MSc and BSc Diagnostic Radiography Apprenticeships, I provide strategic oversight and support for the academic mentoring team. A key aspect of my role is managing OneFile, the E-Portfolio system, ensuring compliance with funding requirements and facilitating the documentation of knowledge, skills, and behaviours essential for meeting apprenticeship standards.

Prior to transitioning into academia, I worked as a diagnostic radiographer in a large regional hospital, gaining extensive experience across a variety of radiographic disciplines. After completing my MSc in Clinical Reporting, I practiced as an Advanced Practitioner Reporting Radiographer, specialising in musculoskeletal plain film reporting.

Research Interests

I am currently pursuing a PhD, investigating the impact of haemochromatosis (an inherited iron overload disorder) on the musculoskeletal system, using imaging studies from UK Biobank.
