Fahad Alghamdi

Postgraduate Researcher
Medical Imaging (Radiography)

I am a dedicated researcher and lecturer specializing in medical imaging. My academic and professional journey has equipped me with expertise in radiological sciences, healthcare education, and research focusing on musculoskeletal and vascular imaging.

I began my career as a lecturer at Qassim University in 2012, where I have been actively involved in teaching ultrasound techniques, training students on imaging applications, and maintaining clinical practice through patient scanning. To further enhance my expertise, I pursued a Master’s degree in Radiological and Imaging Sciences (Invasive Cardiovascular Technology) at Thomas Jefferson University (2014–2016) in the United States.

Currently, I am pursuing a PhD in Medical Imaging at the University of Exeter (since 2021), where my research investigates the impact of Long COVID-related inflammatory processes on bone, joints, and musculoskeletal microvascular haemodynamics. This research utilises various diagnostic modalities, including DXA, ultrasound, near-infrared spectroscopy (NIRS), and blood biomarkers, to assess long-term musculoskeletal health implications.

Beyond research, my academic interests include healthcare management and leadership, particularly in communication challenges within healthcare organizations. Through my experience in both academia and clinical practice, I am committed to advancing medical imaging education, improving patient care, and contributing to innovative research in musculoskeletal and vascular imaging.
