About me:
Abas is a lecturer in Medical Imaging at the University of Exeter and a Fellow of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA). He is a Diagnostic Radiographer with a strong interest in musculoskeletal imaging. He developed a research interest in imaging (ultrasonography and MRI) markers of symptoms and predictors of progression of osteoarthritis (OA) and was awarded the University of Nottingham-Vice Chancellor’s Scholarship for Research Excellence to undertake a PhD in Academic Rheumatology.
He is currently the clinical placement operational lead, where he oversees the operational management of clinical placements for the BSc Medical Imaging programme. He is also involved in teaching undergraduate modules, academic tutoring of undergraduate students and supervising both undergraduate and postgraduate projects at the University of Exeter. Prior to joining the University of Exeter, Abas worked as a lecturer in Diagnostic Radiography, University of Maiduguri, Nigeria. He has also worked as a Diagnostic Radiographer in various tertiary hospitals in Nigeria.
