Anca completed her nurse degree in Iasi, Romania in 1999. Anca’s last clinical placement as a student nurse was at the local teaching hospital where she first came in contact in with nephrology and dialysis in particular. As Anca would openly admit, it was love at first sight and Anca committed the next 18 years of professional work to improving the quality of care within the dialysis services.

Anca joined the University of Exeter in July 2019 enthused by the innovative approach to developing the next generation of nurses; she firmly believes that registered nurses can be inspirational leaders in every nursing intervention.

Anca's current role is Lead for Skills and Simulation and she is  overseeing the design and delivery of the curriculum for all stages of nursing students. Passionate about excellence in both care and education, she has developed the Skills and Simulation programme to ensure students feel confident and prepared for clinical practice.
