About me:
Anca completed her nurse degree in Iasi, Romania in 1999. Anca’s last clinical placement as a student nurse was at the local teaching hospital where she first came in contact in with nephrology and dialysis in particular. As Anca would openly admit, it was love at first sight and Anca committed the next 18 years of professional work to improving the quality of care within the dialysis services.
As her nursing career progressed, Anca’s passion for better quality of life for dialysis patients was the driving force for changing the way dialysis services were delivered. Her vision led to the creation of a state of art, nurse led dialysis unit which was designed and created in collaboration with patients, for patients.
Moreover, Anca believes that enhanced care can only be delivered by appropriately educated staff and she was at the forefront of developing the new generation of renal specialist nurses by delivering the Renal Specialist Modules. Her experience as the module teacher and module lead have contributed to the development of the renal nurses across the region.
Anca joined the University of Exeter in July 2019 enthused by the innovative approach to developing the next generation of nurses who will be scientists as well as practitioners. Anca firmly believes that registered nurses can be inspirational leaders in every nursing intervention and is enthusiastic to be part of MSci nursing programme.
